NYC Bakery Denies Costco Croissant Scandal
25 Jul
Summary
- A foodfluencer accused a NYC bakery of selling Costco croissants.
- The bakery claims croissants are baked fresh, not from Costco.
- Customers were allegedly charged $12 for croissants costing less.

A New York City bakery, Le Parisien, is at the center of a controversy following allegations by a foodfluencer that they are selling Costco croissants to customers for a substantial markup. The content creator, known online as @TallBrownGirlll, posted a viral video showcasing what appeared to be Costco-branded boxes being delivered to the establishment. She claimed that a pistachio croissant was priced at $12, significantly higher than the cost of equivalent Costco products.
Le Parisien has strongly refuted these accusations, asserting that their croissants are produced fresh daily at their Coney Island facility and that the bakery simply reuses packaging. An employee suggested that other items, possibly beverages, might arrive in Costco packaging, which is then repurposed. The bakery also clarified that while some specialty croissants do cost around $12.50, the plain versions are priced much lower.
The bakery's website advertises "authentic French bakery goodness" and emphasizes the use of "finest ingredients" by "skilled artisans" to create "house-made pastries." This stands in contrast to the allegations of reselling mass-produced goods.
