A novice dog owner is set to compete at Crufts following an "unbelievable" journey. Debbie Kent and her dachshund, Bella, from Torrington, Devon, unexpectedly qualified for the prestigious show. Debbie, a first-time dog owner, took Bella to obedience shows in Exeter with no prior experience or expectations.
Bella, described as "the dog of a lifetime," has proven to be very bright and trainable, defying common myths about dachshunds. Debbie's decision to attend local shows was to help Bella socialize with other small breeds, leading to unexpected success and qualification for Crufts.
More than 18,600 canines are anticipated at Birmingham's NEC for Crufts, which runs from Thursday, March 5th, to Sunday, March 8th. Owners will compete for the coveted Best in Show title, a dream realized for Debbie and Bella.
