This initiative aims to assist individuals who may encounter difficulties, providing services such as help securing safe transportation home or a place to wait for friends.
The safe space, located at Lancaster Buildings, will be accessible on December 19th, 20th, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. Operating between 21:00 and 02:00 GMT, it will have qualified medics available. Additionally, taxi marshals will be on duty from 23:00 to 04:00 to manage transport.
Established in March 2022, the safe space was initially set up to aid women and girls in reaching home safely. Now run by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID in partnership with the council, it underscores a commitment to ensuring safe nights out. Volunteers, medical staff, and taxi marshals are dedicated to assisting anyone needing a helping hand.
