An expansive wooden playground named Guildenacre is set to open at Helmingham Estate in Stowmarket this summer, 2026. This new attraction is situated within the four-acre grounds of the estate, offering children a magical adventure.
Guildenacre is divided into four themed zones, each inspired by woodland creatures. Flint's Hollow features badger-striped turrets with tunnels and a slide. Eira the Owl's Canopy Keep provides treetop walkways and talking tubes.
Elderglade, overseen by Atlas the Stag, includes climbing walls, bridges, and slides. The Ember Den offers a zip line and racing slide for older children. Accessible bark pathways connect all areas, and a den building zone is also included.
Families can enjoy refreshments at the nearby Grade II listed Wades Barn. Helmingham Hall, a 16th-century moated manor, surrounds the playground with its historic gardens and deer park. The playground includes a separate car park, and Helmingham Hall and Gardens will open for the season on May 3, 2026.
