Acores Family Restaurant in Swansea's Ocean Grove has officially opened its new outdoor dining area, aiming to transport patrons to the Azores. Owner Sara Pagan expressed her excitement for the launch, scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, hoping to welcome guests despite the week's heatwave.
The renovated patio, located at 317 Ocean Grove Ave., features a working waterfall feeding a koi pond and offers seating for 30-40 people, including lounge areas. A new outdoor grill will feature Portuguese sardines and Puerto Rican shish kabobs, alongside the restaurant's full menu, which includes popular items like steak plates and seafood boils.
Pagan's vision for the space is to provide an "other country" feel, blending her Portuguese heritage with her husband's Puerto Rican background. Future plans include live acoustic music and extending outdoor dining into the fall with igloos.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with later closing times on live entertainment nights.
