A new café, Ryan's Rise Up Café, is preparing to open its doors in Glen Mills, Delaware County, offering a unique employment and development space for people with disabilities. The establishment aims to challenge stigmas by providing a supportive work environment.
Founded by Jim Vail, who sold his construction company to pursue this vision, the café plans to employ between 15 and 20 individuals with disabilities, including those with Down syndrome and autism, with an eventual goal of up to 45 employees. Comprehensive training and a full-time behavioral specialist will be provided.
The café's inclusive design extends to a sensory room for employee breaks. Set to open in early March, Ryan's Rise Up Café anticipates fostering a loving and welcoming atmosphere, inspired by the ambition to empower its workforce.
