Netflix Mom's Son Graduates After Financial Struggles

Lori Hanford, known for her role in the Netflix show 'The Later Daters,' shared an emotional video of her son Sean's college graduation on December 19, 2025. Sean, 23, earned a degree in Entrepreneurship from Kennesaw State University in Georgia. The viral video captured Sean wiping away tears, a moment his mother described as a testament to his perseverance through immense challenges.

Hanford, who raised Sean and his sister as a single mother, revealed that the family often faced financial difficulties, including struggles to afford Sean's meal plan. Sean himself spoke of moments of uncertainty about affording college before starting in 2021. He overcame these obstacles by securing scholarships, working full-time, and participating in mentorship programs, even becoming a real estate agent before graduating.

Sean's journey was significantly supported by the Steve Harvey Mentoring Program for Young Men, which provided encouragement and even a scholarship for his first year. Steve Harvey himself congratulated Sean on his achievement. Graduating with honors and almost no debt, Sean is pursuing his dream of owning a real estate brokerage.
