The CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) recently held its annual Rose and Gladiolus Show on its lawns. This two-day event attracted visitors eager to admire beautiful and unique varieties of roses and gladiolus in full bloom.
The show featured competitions divided into eight classes, encompassing cut flowers, specimen blooms, floral arrangements, potted plants, and photography. Entries were submitted by a diverse group of participants, including government departments, nurserymen, individual growers, and gardeners.
This year's event saw significant participation with 510 entries from 73 exhibitors originating from Lucknow and other locations. Beyond the floral displays and competitions, attendees could visit the CSIR-NBRI Pavilion to view cut flowers from the institute's rose and gladiolus collections, as well as learn about technologies and herbal products developed by NBRI.
