10 Feb
Summary
- Nandi Hills will be closed to visitors on Valentine's Day.
- Entry ban is due to crowd management and public safety concerns.
- This is the first specific Valentine's Day closure for the site.

The popular tourist destination, Nandi Hills, will be inaccessible to visitors on Valentine's Day, February 14th. The Chikkaballapur district administration has ordered a complete closure of the hill station to manage anticipated large crowds and ensure public safety. This marks the first instance of Nandi Hills being shut specifically for Valentine's Day.
Officials have stated that no visitors or private vehicles will be permitted entry between 6 am and 6 pm on February 14th. The decision aims to prevent potential law and order issues and unruly behavior, which could also harm the delicate ecosystem of the hills. Similar restrictions were previously implemented during New Year celebrations to control overcrowding.
Nandi Hills, located approximately 70 km from Bengaluru, experiences significant footfall, often exceeding 10,000 visitors on weekends. The administration advises those with plans for February 14th to consider alternative destinations or postpone their visit.
