Namrata Purohit's fitness journey began unexpectedly after a severe knee injury from a horse-riding accident in her teenage years. The practice not only healed her but also ignited a profound passion, shifting her focus from athletic competition to a deep understanding of mindful movement and rehabilitation.
By the age of 16, Purohit achieved a significant milestone, becoming the youngest certified Stott Pilates instructor in India. Her commitment to mastering the discipline continued through advanced certifications and international training. Complementing her practical expertise, she pursued formal education, earning a master's in sports management from Loughborough University in the UK.
In 2011, Namrata Purohit co-founded 'The Pilates Studio' in Mumbai, which quickly became a prominent fitness destination. It pioneered the integration of Pilates with simulated altitude training, offering a unique fitness experience. She developed the "KISSS" (Keep It Safe, Simple, and Smart) mantra to make fitness accessible and effective for everyone, regardless of their background or goals.
Purohit's influence extends beyond the studio, notably within Bollywood, where she trains numerous high-profile celebrities like Sara Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. She has also served as the official Pilates coach for Mumbai City FC, demonstrating her versatility in training both actors and athletes for strength, flexibility, and injury prevention.
