Koradi Fair: Nagpur's Vibrant Navratri Celebration Draws Devotees from Across India

As of September 27th, 2025, the city of Nagpur is in the midst of a vibrant Navratri celebration, with the Koradi fair at the Shri Mahalakshmi Jagdamba Mata Mandir standing out as the shining star of the festivities. The fair, which has been a long-standing tradition, continues to attract devotees not only from Nagpur but also from neighboring states like Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Chandrapur, and Madhya Pradesh.

Despite the long journeys and winding queues, the spirit of the visitors remains undiminished. Rani Sen, a visitor from Bhopal, has been making the trip to Koradi for the past six years, drawn by the temple's significance and the vibrant atmosphere. Arjun Reddy, a devotee from Hyderabad, echoes this sentiment, describing the "unmatched energy" and the "celebration of life" that the fair embodies.

The Koradi fair is a feast for the senses, with the temple glowing with sparkling lights and floral decorations, while stalls selling sweets, toys, garlands, and handicraft items create a kaleidoscope of colors. The participation of traders and performers from several states adds to the lively economic rhythm of the celebrations.

Despite the large crowds, the event is well-managed, with over 200 volunteers and a dedicated police team ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of the festivities. Lalit Limbachiya, a member of the temple committee, notes that even after the long journeys and waiting in queues, the devotees continue to enjoy every moment they spend at the fair, their devotion truly inspiring.

The Koradi fair, held only during Navratri, blends faith, festivity, and community, making it Nagpur's most anticipated celebration every year.
