A new high-tech airport lounge named Portal Lounge has opened at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), aiming to redefine the traveler experience. Launched on May 28, 2026, by the founders of Gameway, the lounge offers a social space that integrates gaming, dining, music, and innovative technology. This 3,800-square-foot lounge can accommodate approximately 114 guests, featuring a portal-inspired entrance, cinematic lighting, and custom furnishings.
Among its standout features are 17 gaming stations equipped with various consoles and PCs, offering a selection of nearly 30 titles. Adding to the futuristic appeal, the lounge boasts the first robotic bartender in a U.S. airport lounge, capable of preparing cocktails and mocktails. This element serves as both a service and an entertainment spectacle for travelers.
Beyond entertainment, Portal Lounge focuses on a unique hospitality experience. The menu includes chef-driven small plates and beverages inspired by Minnesota, such as the "Lag Free" cocktail and a zero-proof "Prince's Lemonade." This local flavor aims to connect travelers with the city they are visiting.
The lounge operates as an independent common-use space, accessible through programs like Priority Pass and select credit cards, with walk-in access anticipated around $70. The concept caters to travelers seeking a more engaging way to spend their time, particularly during delays or long layovers, transforming airport waiting into an active part of their trip.
