A team of five men from Worcestershire will embark on a significant challenge to raise awareness for men's mental health. Dubbed 'Carrying the Weight Together,' the group plans to walk the entire 31-mile (50km) Worcestershire Way, from Bewdley to Malvern.
Their journey involves carrying an 85kg log by hand, symbolizing the emotional weight many men carry. They aim to promote conversation and demonstrate that sharing these burdens makes them more manageable. This event will take place from April 3rd to 6th, 2026.
The team is raising funds for the Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind charity, with a target of £1,000, having already raised £600. Along their route, they will make stops at local pubs to create informal, safe spaces for men to connect and talk.
