The Mangaluru Dasara procession, held as part of the Navaratri and Dasara festivities at the Kudroli Sri Gokarnatha temple, saw a mammoth crowd in attendance. Before the procession began, a visarjan puja was offered to the idol of Sharada at the temple. Later, idols of Mahaganapathi, Navadurge, and Sharada were taken in a grand procession through the city streets.
Simultaneously, the annual Rathotsava, as part of the Navaratri festival, was held at the Sri Mahathobhara Mangaladevi temple. Devotees thronged the temple in large numbers to witness the rituals and the colorful procession. Earlier, a 'Vidyarambha' ceremony was also held at the temple, where over 100 children were initiated into their student life.
The Mangaluru City Corporation decorated the city roads, while private establishments illuminated their buildings as part of the festivities. Strict security and traffic arrangements were in place across the city to manage the large crowds.
