A man from Saltash, Cornwall, has achieved a remarkable feat by completing a non-electric kick scooter journey across Australia. Bob Brown, aged 57, covered approximately 2,800 miles from Perth to Sydney, finishing his ambitious challenge on Monday. His trek concluded in 31 days, four hours, and 10 minutes, and he has submitted his documentation to Guinness World Records. Brown aimed to become the fastest person to cross the country on a kick scooter. He also sought recognition as the first individual to complete the route using three distinct methods: running, cycling, and scootering. This accomplishment follows his previous crossings in 2001 by running and in 2003 by cycling, making him the first Briton to run across Australia and the first person to both run and cycle the continent. Brown's adventure was also a mission to raise £5,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support, St Luke's Hospice, and Children's Hospice South West. He expressed a desire to inspire younger generations to engage in outdoor adventures away from electronic devices. Despite encountering injuries, including a fall due to handlebar breakage on the final day and an earlier incident involving a passing vehicle, Brown persevered to complete his goal.
