The town of Malvern is currently hosting its annual Water and Well Dressing Festival, a celebration of its rich history and natural spring water. Approximately 52 wells across the town have been transformed into intricate displays, this year inspired by the theme of birds. Visitors can marvel at creations ranging from a giant owl lit with fairy lights to striking phoenixes and decorative seagulls.
This beloved event, organized by the Malvern Spa Association, commenced on Friday and will continue until May 10th. It honors the Malvern Hills' heritage, including its renowned Victorian water cure. Participants, including schools and various community groups, invest significant time and creativity into crafting these unique exhibits.
The festival offers a full week of activities beyond the well dressings. Attendees can engage in well blessings, guided walks, and enjoy traditional Maypole and Morris dancing. A dedicated water festival family day is scheduled, promising live music, complimentary activities, and artistic endeavors for all ages.
