Mahashivaratri celebrations filled temples in the coastal districts as devotees gathered in massive numbers. Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple, and Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple were among the major sites attracting large crowds. Pilgrims offered prayers and performed rituals, including 'Bilva Patra' offerings and abhisheka, to the Shivlinga.
At Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade welcomed the thousands of pilgrims, urging them to find spiritual renewal and live civilised lives. He emphasized the deity's power to aid worldly welfare and noted the selfless devotion of those undertaking the pilgrimage, including significant participation from women and special greetings to devotees from Bengaluru.
The Kudroli temple hosted its annual festival with a series of rituals such as 'Umamaheshwara homa', 'Maha rudrabhisheka', and 'Rathotsava'. Similar observances took place at numerous other shrines across the Dakshina Kannada district. To assist the influx of devotees, KSRTC provided special bus services to the key temple locations.
