The Hazratganj Crossing in Lucknow transformed into a scene from the past with the yearly Vintage Car and Motorcycle Club rally. Organized by Sandeep Das, the event saw a spectacular display of automotive heritage, with IAS officer Sanjay Prasad flagging off the procession. He lauded the vehicles as "vibrant pieces of art" and celebrations of craftsmanship.
The rally featured approximately 22 vintage cars and motorcycles, journeying through prominent city locations like Hazratganj, Bara Imambara, and Lohia Path before concluding at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan. For participants like Tarun Sehgal, the event was a significant expression of nostalgia and heritage preservation, with some traveling from afar to join.
Connoisseurs showcased meticulously restored vehicles, including Willys models from 1953 and 1969, and a 1952 Morris Minor. These cars, described as "heritage on wheels," were highlighted as essential to Lucknow's cultural legacy, akin to its renowned cuisine and traditions, emphasizing the need for their continued care.
