In the lead-up to Diwali 2025, Lucknow residents have been eagerly seeking out unique home decor items to celebrate the festival. From swastik dream catchers and colorful pearl rangoli to floral diya stands and light balls, shoppers have a wide array of creative options to choose from.
At a home decor store in Gomtinagar, Gauri Awasthi and her sister purchased swastik dream catchers and pearl rangoli, with Gauri noting that the rangoli is "something new" this year. The shop owner, Rahul Bhatia, revealed that floral diya stands have been the bestsellers, as customers are looking for more innovative decorative pieces.
Many shoppers were seen video calling their loved ones to get their input on the best Diwali decorations. Nandini and her husband Subodh Mehra, for instance, selected a floral diya brass stand, saying it is "a decorative piece in itself" beyond just decorating the lamps.
Bhoothnath market shopkeeper Vijay Anand observed that while traditional items like strings and earthen lamps are still selling, there is a high demand for creative decor pieces like light balls, convertible candle and diya stands, kalamkari plates, and pearl rangoli. Aditi Tomar, a customer, echoed this sentiment, noting that she purchased a brass floral diya stand, kalamkari plates, and artificial flowers to add "aesthetic value" to her Diwali decorations.
