On Wednesday, Lucknow transformed into a spectacle of vibrant colors as thousands participated in lively Holi processions. The iconic 70-year-old Chowk procession commenced from Koneshwar temple, weaving through significant city landmarks before returning. Folk singers enlivened the route, with residents adding to the festive spirit by showering flowers, embodying Lucknow's harmonious culture.
The 52-year-old Chaupatiyan procession also saw a massive turnout, beginning at Kakkar Park and traversing similar routes before concluding. Devotees were treated to sweets like laddoos and gujhiyas while dancing to popular tunes amidst horses and camels accompanying the festivities.
Separately, the Uttarakhand Mahaparishad observed Holi with distinct traditional rituals. Their celebrations began with a Ganesh Vandana, followed by 'baithki Holi' featuring traditional folk songs from Uttarakhand. Participants exchanged greetings with gulaal and shared local delicacies such as gujhiyas and malpuas.
