Lucknow Empowers Women: 162 Sewing Centers Launched

On August 2nd, 2025, Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh took a significant step towards women's empowerment in Lucknow by inaugurating 10 new Tarashakti sewing centers. This brings the total number of such centers across the constituency to 162.
The newly launched centers, located in Neelmatha, Chandrawal, Raniyapur, Koodha Eentgaon, Bijnor, Ashiyana, Qila Gaon, Ambedkar Puram, and Gaur, were officially inaugurated at a ceremony held at the MLA's residence in Aashiana. The Tarashakti initiative, launched in memory of Singh's late mother, Tara Singh, aims not only to provide tailoring skills but also to foster self-reliance, group organization, and social security among women.
Since the inception of the program, over 17,000 sewing machines, including manual, automatic, pico, and interlocking types, have been distributed. More than 10,000 women have already been mobilized into self-help groups through these centers. The MLA also held a public interaction with intellectuals and local residents, listening to their concerns and assuring prompt solutions.
