Lucknow Authorities Ensure Devotee Safety and Exam Transparency for Upcoming Festivities

As the people of Uttar Pradesh prepare to celebrate the Chhath Puja festival, the state government has made devotee safety its top priority. In a joint review meeting on October 21, 2025, Chief Secretary SP Goyal and DGP Rajeev Krishna have directed divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officers to ensure comprehensive security and safety arrangements at major puja sites.
The officials have been instructed to maintain strict crowd management, deploy CCTV cameras, public address systems, and establish control rooms and lost-and-found centers at the ghats. Adequate parking, mobile toilets, and changing rooms will also be provided for the convenience of the devotees. Additionally, the deployment of police, PAC, NDRF, divers, and volunteers will be ensured, along with barricading and firefighting arrangements.
Alongside the Chhath Puja preparations, the authorities have also discussed the upcoming police recruitment examinations scheduled for November 1-2, 2025, in various cities across Uttar Pradesh. Chief Secretary Goyal has directed officials to ensure a fair and transparent process, with CCTV cameras installed at the treasury and all examination centers.
