Summary
- Lone Star Donuts, a family-run shop, opened in Silverdale in 2022
- It has expanded to 3 locations in Kitsap County suburbs
- Offers "Texas-style" donuts and savory kolaches

In the past three years, a new donut shop has risen to the top in the Seattle area. Lone Star Donuts, a family-run business that first opened its doors in the suburb of Silverdale in 2022, has quickly become a local favorite, winning the title of best bakery in southern, central, and northern Kitsap County.
The shop, owned by Omar Santigo Gomez, specializes in "Texas-style" donuts, which are larger than the average donut. But Lone Star's menu goes beyond just classic donuts, also offering a selection of savory kolaches - a pastry that originated in the Czech Republic but has become particularly popular in Texas. Customers can choose from fillings like sausage and cheese, or a spicy version with jalapeños.
Beyond the Texas-inspired offerings, Lone Star also serves a wide variety of classic filled donuts, from Boston cream to berry flavors, as well as iced donuts in both traditional and unique flavors like blueberry-lavender.
The success of the original Silverdale location has led Lone Star to rapidly expand, opening two additional shops in the nearby city of Port Orchard over the past couple of years. While the original Silverdale shop may be a bit of a trek for downtown Seattle residents, the Port Orchard locations are more conveniently located and accessible by public transportation.
