PCOS May End Lois Logan's Extreme Sports Career

Gabby Logan has shared that her daughter, promising showjumper Lois Logan, has been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This chronic health condition could significantly impact her ability to compete in extreme athletic events.

Lois, aged 20, received the diagnosis recently. A specialist advised her against extreme running, a recommendation that brought Gabby Logan a sense of relief. This advice means Lois and Gabby may have to scale back their shared athletic ambitions.

PCOS is a common hormonal disorder affecting women of reproductive age worldwide, with symptoms including irregular periods and fertility challenges. While exercise is beneficial, excessive high-intensity workouts might worsen symptoms for some.

Lois, who has excelled in showjumping since age eight, previously participated in the London Landmarks Half-Marathon with her mother in April 2024. She also plans to participate in the Markel Magnolia Cup at Goodwood in July 2025.
