Kushalnagar Celebrates Ganapati Temple's Vibrant Chariot Festival

The chariot festival of the historic Ganapati temple in Kushalnagar was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on November 5th, 2025. Thousands of devotees participated in the event, which was marked by a special puja on the Krishna Paksha of the Kartik month in the Hindu calendar.
The chariot procession, a highlight of the festival, saw the idol of Lord Ganapati installed in a chariot and pulled through Rath Beedi to the Anjaneya temple. Devotees, including children and women, enthusiastically participated in dance and bhajan programs organized by the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project. The event also featured a camphor aarti by devotees of Lord Ayyappa.
Religious leader Sadashiva Swami, Madikeri MLA Manthar Gowda, and former minister MP Appachu Ranjan attended the festival. Over 100 policemen were deployed to ensure tight security, under the supervision of Kushalnagar DSP Chandrashekhar.
