Summary
- Dozens of rescue kittens explored the Sea Life aquarium at Mall of America.
- The Bitty Kitty Brigade organized the unique socialization event for kittens.
- The aquarium visit helps kittens adjust to potential new homes more easily.
Rescue kittens recently experienced a unique adventure, exploring the Sea Life aquarium at the Mall of America before public hours. The Bitty Kitty Brigade, a local rescue organization, facilitated this field trip for dozens of orphaned neonatal kittens.
These young cats, named with themes like the Minnesota State Fair, navigated the aquarium's attractions. They peered at sharks and turtles through a 300-foot underwater tunnel and interacted with colorful fish within a clear dome. Some found the dim, blue environment conducive to naps.
This sixth annual 'field trip' is more than just a fun outing; it's a crucial socialization event. Organizers believe exposure to new environments and stimuli helps the kittens adjust better when they are adopted. The organization oversees approximately 1,000 kittens annually, and this experience aids their integration into foster and forever homes.
