King Charles Honors Young 'Changemakers' at 35-Year Foundation Event
2 Oct, 2025
Summary
- King Charles meets inspiring young innovators in Scotland
- Marvels at sustainable fashion and carbon-negative construction
- Interacts with prize-winning cow at previous reception

In a celebration of the 35th anniversary of his charitable foundation, King Charles III met with a group of inspiring young "changemakers" in Scotland on October 2, 2025. The King marveled at the innovative work of these individuals, who are part of the foundation's "35 under 35" network.
Among the young talents the King encountered was Siobhan Mackenzie, a Scottish fashion designer who champions sustainable methods and wool in her designs. The King was particularly impressed by the tartan outfit she wore, which will be used in branding for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The King also met William Campion, an architect who has developed the world's first carbon-negative robotic construction method, and Kyle Frank, the founder of a sustainable, vegan-based skincare brand. After spending over 45 minutes with the group, the King watched as they placed their creations into a time capsule to be buried for a century.
This engagement comes just two days after the King enjoyed a lighthearted encounter with a prize-winning cow named Poppy at a previous reception. Despite the cow's antics, which included knocking over a table and crashing into a hedge, the King remained calm and good-humored.
The King's Foundation, established in 1990 when he was the Prince of Wales, offers educational courses to around 15,000 students annually, focusing on areas like traditional craftsmanship, sustainable fashion, and the environment.
