Kate's ensemble featured a bespoke ankle-length blue tartan coat, crafted from Johnstons of Elgin wool by Chris Kerr. This choice, a shade reminiscent of the Scottish flag, also aligned with Barrows' attire for the outing in Stirling.

Natalie Barrows has been a key aide to Princess Kate since 2017, initially joining the royal household as assistant private secretary when Kate was the Duchess of Cambridge. Her role involves managing schedules and supporting royal engagements.

Barrows has remained a consistent presence, even during Princess Kate's period away from the public eye in 2024 for cancer treatment. She was among the staffers with whom Kate held regular meetings while working from home.

Princess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and completed chemotherapy in September of the same year. By January 2025, she had entered remission and has since been resuming a more regular schedule of work.
