Jill Duggar is opening up about her grief journey following the stillbirth of her daughter, Isla Marie. She recently posted a selfie from her daughter's grave on Instagram, describing it as a place that provides "a space to feel" and "to remember our daughter."
Duggar revealed in April 2024 that Isla Marie "died in utero" one month prior. She and her husband, Derek Dillard, shared that their "beautiful baby girl" was much loved from the start by her three older brothers.
To help others experiencing similar losses, Duggar highlighted the availability of free burial options in designated baby burial areas at cemeteries. She noted that she learned of these options when her mother experienced a miscarriage in 2011.
Jill and Dillard, who have been married since 2014, also experienced a miscarriage in 2021, naming their late child River Bliss. They chose "River" for its biblical association with God's life-giving presence and "Bliss" to signify the perfect peace their baby experiences with the Lord.
