As of September 26th, 2025, Jaipur's Bengali community is preparing to celebrate Durga Puja with a series of events and festivities. Multiple puja pandals are set to be inaugurated across the city over the upcoming weekend, with some already launching their celebrations on Friday.
The Durga Bari puja committee is particularly excited about their Anandamela food festival on Saturday, which will feature a delectable spread of Rajasthani and Bengali cuisines, as well as dessert stalls. Meanwhile, the Anandoprabha Society is presenting an all-women organized puja at Kanota Bagh, with plans for musical evenings, dance performances, and dramas to extend the festivities.
The Durga Bari at Bani Park, Jaipur's oldest Durga Puja event, has been celebrating the occasion since 1956. The Probashi Bengali Cultural Society (PBCS) has also been hosting its puja at the historic Jai Club for the past three decades, with rituals taking place every morning and evening starting this Sunday, along with nightly cultural programs.
Additional vibrant celebrations are set to unfold at the SDM Park, featuring diverse cultural events throughout the week. On October 1st, the Shakti Foundation will also conduct a unique "Sindoor Khela," emphasizing the celebration of womanhood with performances and rituals.
With such a rich array of events and activities, the spirit of Durga Puja is poised to resonate throughout Jaipur in the coming days.
