Swiggy Sees Surge in Festive Food Orders Across India

As India's festive season continues, food delivery has become an integral part of the celebrations. Data from Swiggy shows a steady rise in orders for festive favorites across the country.
Between September 22-30, 2025, Swiggy recorded over 99,000 orders for Sabudana Khichdi, over 100,000 for Vrat Thali, and around 70,000 for Sabudana Vada. The demand was led by major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, and Lucknow.
The trend extends beyond metropolitan areas, with tier-two cities like Surat and Thiruvananthapuram also showing strong participation in the festive food frenzy. On Ashtami, Swiggy's Bolt service saw its highest orders from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi.
The enthusiasm for festive meals is evident, with one customer in Kolkata placing an order worth ₹18,000 during Durga Puja. Earlier, Ganesh Chaturthi saw over 2.2 lakh modaks ordered, while Raksha Bandhan recorded a 32% rise in orders compared to 2024.
This surge in food delivery during India's celebrations highlights how the convenience of these services has become an integral part of the country's festive routines.
