In late September 2025, the Africa Center for Hospitality, Aviation, and Tourism announced the launch of a new three-day event called Africa Week UK. The inaugural festival, set to take place from October 2-4, 2025 in London, will celebrate African culture, creativity, and commerce.
The event is being organized in partnership with GUBA Enterprises, Access Media, and KAYA. It will coincide with the start of UK Black History Month and feature a lineup of high-profile speakers. Keynote addresses will be delivered by H.E. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, as well as Dr. Adesegun Adeosun Jnr, the CEO of SMADE Entertainment and co-founder of the popular Afro Nation music festival, and Tim Yaw Struthers, a UK-Ghana film and TV executive.
Other notable participants include British MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Alex Apau Dadey of the KGL Group, Kojo Marfo of My Runway Group, and several African business and media leaders. The event will showcase live performances, fashion displays, and panel discussions on investment opportunities and diplomatic relations between Africa and the UK.
Organizers have stated that they plan for Africa Week UK to become an annual event, serving as a platform for African and British industries to connect and highlight the contributions of Africans and the diaspora to the UK's economy and creative sectors.
