A luxury £5 million Chelsea mansion owned by 111Skin founders Dr. Yannis Alexandridis and Eva Alexandridis faces a demolition order for an illegally constructed pergola. Erected in September 2022 without planning permission, the expansive 100-square-metre steel-framed unit and altered living space were deemed 'jarring' and 'incongruous' by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The couple, whose skincare brand is part-owned by Kim Kardashian's private equity firm, argued the pergola was visually unobtrusive and enhanced usability.
However, planners found the structure, comprising three separate pergolas, was highly visible across the borough and dominated the skyline in a protected postcode. The appeal by Dr. Alexandridis, a Harley Street plastic surgeon, was dismissed. A Planning Inspector stated the pergola was 'very prominent and jarring' and harmful to public and private views. The Alexandridises have been ordered to dismantle the roof terrace by June 17, 2026.
