A cyclist diagnosed with stage four terminal cancer in September 2023 has achieved a remarkable milestone in his recovery. He is now back on his road bike and behind the wheel, merely 12 weeks after undergoing surgery.
Doctors estimated he had two to four years to live following his diagnosis, which revealed primary prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Despite the grim prognosis, the 49-year-old has documented an inspiring recovery journey.
His return to exercise began just two weeks post-surgery with an exercise bike. Following a strict daily physiotherapy and fitness regimen, he progressed to partial weight-bearing at six weeks and walking unaided by eleven weeks.
