Hana Nguyen, formerly a pharmacist in Da Nang, Vietnam, has built a thriving coworking business from her family's home. After discovering the coworking concept through a foreign acquaintance in early 2024, she saw a significant opportunity. Her initial venture involved managing a space for a hotel owner, followed by a period where she operated a coworking area within a friend's bar.
Driven by a desire for ownership and to support her family, Nguyen transformed a floor of her parents' house into Hana's Coworking. This family-run operation now accommodates 30 people, charging $76 per month. Her father and mother assist as a guard and cleaner, respectively, underscoring the business's deep family roots.
The space has become a vital hub for digital nomads in Da Nang, a city praised for its affordability, convenience, and natural beauty. Nguyen actively fosters community, recognizing that loneliness is a significant challenge for visitors. Her events also attract about 20% Vietnamese locals, providing them opportunities to practice English and gain insights into different lifestyles.
