Gwyneth Paltrow has disclosed undergoing a costly blood-filtering treatment, therapeutic plasma exchange, to eliminate toxins from her body. This controversial procedure, which she underwent in Chicago, can cost up to £36,500 for five sessions.

Paltrow, who has frequently explored wellness trends, sought the treatment to address persistent health issues such as chronic fatigue and brain fog. She expressed a strong interest in filtering perceived harmful substances, like microplastics and mould, from her blood.

Following the treatment, Paltrow stated she felt "amazing," reporting an "immediate unburdening and clarity and lightness." This aligns with her history of promoting various wellness practices through her Goop brand, some of which have faced significant criticism from medical experts.

Her past wellness endeavors include bee sting therapy, coffee enemas, and rectal ozone therapy. Paltrow has also spoken about her body's perceived difficulty in detoxifying due to genetic factors, having previously undergone cleanses like an eight-day goat milk fast.
