Guruvayur Temple Sets Wedding Record

Guruvayur Temple is preparing for an exceptionally busy Sunday, with a record 437 weddings already booked. This count, scheduled for the final Sunday of the auspicious Malayalam month of Chingam, has the potential to exceed the temple's previous record of 416 weddings, which occurred on August 23. Temple authorities and the police have coordinated extensive arrangements to ensure the seamless execution of these ceremonies.

Wedding ceremonies are slated to commence at 4 AM across six mandapams. To facilitate the high volume of events, additional priests will be available. Strict guest limits are in place, allowing only 24 individuals, including photographers, to accompany each bridal couple to the mandapams. Certain ritualistic offerings will be temporarily suspended to prioritize smooth darshan for devotees. Approximately 120 additional police officers will be deployed to maintain order and manage the expected crowds.
