Great-Grandparents Meet Baby Jackson After Months Apart

Great-grandparents Anthony and Carol Oliveri, aged 84 and 83 respectively, experienced an unforgettable moment in June 2026 when they met their great-grandson, Jackson, for the first time. Due to health reasons, the couple from Carle Place, N.Y., could not travel to Virginia after Jackson was born in March 2026.

To bridge the distance, his mother, Stephanie Meredith, 36, ensured her grandparents never missed a milestone. Weekly FaceTime calls allowed them to witness Jackson's first smiles and other early developments virtually.

Meredith planned a surprise visit during a trip to her hometown in June, coinciding with a Fourth of July family reunion. The emotional encounter, captured on video, quickly went viral on TikTok, garnering over a million views and touching viewers worldwide.

The surprise brought four generations together, with Anthony Oliveri describing his reaction as stunned and almost frightened. Carol Oliveri likened the moment to the day her first child was brought home 65 years prior.

This meeting was particularly significant as Anthony had been facing major health challenges over the past year. His determination to recover to meet Jackson made the reunion even more poignant for the family.

The family cherishes the video of the reunion as a keepsake, hoping Jackson will have many years of memories with his great-grandparents, similar to the cherished experiences Meredith had with her own great-grandparents.
