Girl's 2 words bring cops to tears

A young girl's heartfelt letters have had a profound impact on police officers across the United States. Ten-year-old Savannah Solis, initially motivated by the tragic murder of two New York officers in 2015, felt compelled to express her gratitude.

Solis, who was inspired to become a police officer after a positive encounter with one in her childhood, began writing personal letters to law enforcement. Her letters, often beginning with the simple yet powerful phrase "Thank you," conveyed her deep appreciation for their bravery and the sacrifices they make.

During a Christmas break, Solis dedicated herself to creating hundreds of these letters, personally delivering some to police departments throughout Texas. A video captured her heartwarming gesture, showing officers moved to tears by her thoughtful words and colorful "My hero" cards.

Assistant Chief Jessica Robledo of the Austin Police Department noted the significant emotional impact of Solis's words, stating they touched every officer and showed the profound value placed on their service. Solis's commitment to showing appreciation for officers didn't wane as she grew older.

As recently as 2021, she visited a precinct in Manchester, New Hampshire, continuing her tradition of delivering cards and engaging with officers. Her ongoing dedication has been widely praised, with many recognizing her remarkable efforts to provide much-needed inspiration to law enforcement.
