Tragically, the search for 17-year-old Indian-origin student Gautham Rajanikanth in Pittsburgh has concluded with his passing. His parents confirmed his death days after he was reported missing. They have initiated a GoFundMe campaign to honor Gautham's memory by supporting causes dear to him. This initiative aims to transform grief into action.
Gautham, an 11th-grade student at South Fayette High School, was a cherished member of his community. He was recognized for his kindness, his bond with his younger brother, and his musical abilities, playing multiple instruments. He also held a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and was pursuing his third-degree.
The fundraiser, organized to support local causes, rapidly exceeded its initial USD 75,000 goal, reaching over USD 83,000. Gautham was reported missing earlier in the week, prompting a search by South Fayette Township Police. Authorities later called off the search. A memorial service was held on March 19 at Beinhauer Funeral Home in Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his parents, his brother Ashwin, and a wide circle of extended family and friends. Gautham Rajanikanth is remembered as a thoughtful and talented young individual whose life left a lasting impact.
