Ganesh Puja: Lucknow Celebrations Mirror Maharashtrian Grandeur

Ganesh Puja celebrations filled Old Lucknow with devotion and festivity on Tuesday. Hundreds of devotees congregated at various pandals, their energy amplified by "Ganpati Bappa Morya" chants and lively music.

The Chowk Ke Raja pandal, a creation of the Marathi Samaj of Lucknow, captivated visitors with its replica of the Konark Sun Temple and a Siddhivinayak idol. Priests from Maharashtra led morning aarti, followed by the distribution of traditional sweets. Children and adults, dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire, engaged in cultural performances and competitions, while food stalls offered popular snacks like vada pav.

At Aminabad Ke Raja, the festivities drew families throughout the day, with children proudly showcasing their Maharashtrian costumes. The venue hosted religious recitations and a community feast. Similarly, Shivaji Marg Ka Raja, themed around "serving parents," saw a steady influx of devotees participating in rituals and enjoying a special bhog.

These celebrations effectively recreated the grand spirit of Ganesh Utsav for residents, including newcomers who found the festivities reminiscent of their hometowns, fostering a strong sense of community and shared cultural experience.
