Summary
- A kitten was rescued from the center median of the 2 Freeway.
- The kitten was adopted by a Pasadena Humane shelter employee.
- The adopted kitten was renamed Shadow and is now living happily.
A small gray kitten experienced a dramatic rescue earlier this month, starting with an intervention by the California Highway Patrol. An officer spotted the feline on the center median of the 2 Freeway in Glendale and halted traffic to ensure its safety.
The kitten proved elusive, climbing into the undercarriage of a parked patrol car. A tow truck driver was called to remove a tire, successfully freeing the kitten, which was then transported to the Pasadena Humane shelter.
Initially named Chip, the kitten captured the heart of Maricella, an employee at the shelter who regularly witnesses animals in need. She decided to adopt the kitten, renaming him Shadow.
Shadow is now thriving, described as sweet, cuddly, and playful. He enjoys snuggling, playing with his toys, and receiving occasional pup cups. He is also becoming more comfortable with a harness and car rides.
