Run Your Way to Romance: New Festival Offers Speed Dating on the Trails

The newly established Festival of Running and Music (FORM), scheduled for September 25-27, is set to introduce a novel concept: speed dating integrated with running activities. This event is the brainchild of a Bristol-based couple who found romance through their shared passion for running. FORM aims to provide a refreshing alternative to conventional dating methods, addressing what organizers perceive as a growing mental health crisis associated with modern dating apps.

Participants at FORM will be pre-matched with potential partners for brief, running-based encounters. The festival features a specially designed romantic trail, approximately one kilometer long, set against the scenic backdrop of the Brecon Beacons. This unique setting encourages genuine interaction and the formation of meaningful connections. Following the run, attendees can anonymously indicate their interest in further socializing, potentially leading to new relationships or even weddings.

Festival-goers like Marc Harvey and Hannah Ward express enthusiasm for this activity-led approach, citing disillusionment with the superficiality of dating apps. They believe that events like FORM, which cater to singles and promote shared interests in outdoor activities, music, and well-being, offer a more authentic way to meet like-minded individuals. The festival seeks to create a safe and pressure-free environment for singles to connect organically.
