6 Nov
Summary
- Travel influencer takes three cats on wilderness expeditions.
- Cats are trained from kittens to travel in a camper van.
- Safety measures and cat comfort are prioritized on trips.
Travel influencer Shalee Super and her husband, Josh, have transformed their nomadic lifestyle to include their three cats: Maverick, Aspen, and Tortilla. The couple, who have been adventuring for nearly a decade, began training the cats when they were young, introducing them to short excursions before full expeditions.
Their camper van is specially outfitted with a "cat nook" for their litter box, offering a secure space. Maverick is an avid hiker, Aspen prefers indoor comfort, and Tortilla is content anywhere. The cats roam freely inside the camper, retreating there when stimulated by external noise.
Safety is paramount, with the couple noting that their cats' senses often exceed their own. While occasional worries arise, the benefits of the cats experiencing a happy, adventurous life outweigh the risks. They manage temperature concerns and seek less populated areas for their travels, emphasizing consistency in training.
