Ben Constable, a former RAF medic, is embarking on an ambitious endurance challenge to run seven marathons across seven continents within a single week. This remarkable feat, known as The Great World Race, is scheduled for 2027 and includes a marathon in Antarctica. Constable's motivation stems from the life-changing support he received from the Royal British Legion after experiencing homelessness. He aims to raise £1 million for the charity.
Four years prior to this upcoming challenge, Constable received a diagnosis of autism and complex PTSD. The Royal British Legion's Step Back into Health programme was instrumental in his recovery and transition into healthcare. He has since earned a nursing degree and now serves as an RBL ambassador, advocating for veteran support, mental health, and neurodiversity. Running has been a significant part of his therapy and personal growth.
