- The initiative aims to help families with the cost of living crisis.
- Donations are accepted from November 24th, with swaps running until December 22nd.

Libraries across East Yorkshire are launching festive outfit swap shops in the lead-up to Christmas. This creative initiative by East Riding of Yorkshire Council allows children to donate their outgrown or unwanted costumes and select a "new to you" festive outfit.
The council hopes this scheme will provide much-needed relief for families struggling with the current cost of living. Councillor Nick Coultish highlighted the dual benefit of reducing financial pressure and drawing more people into local libraries to experience their offerings.
Donations are welcomed from November 24th, with the swap events running from December 1st to December 22nd. Participation in the swap does not require a prior donation, making it accessible to all residents. Libraries in Beverley, Bridlington, Goole, Haltemprice, Snaith, Brough, and Withernsea are participating.
