Dylan Dreyer recently discussed her family's transition from their New York City apartment to a new home in the suburbs. In early June 2026, she shared on her podcast emotional memories of their final moments in the apartment, including tearful goodbyes from her youngest son, Russell. The co-host of The Today Show explained that the children's bedroom, in particular, was a place that encapsulated many years of memories and a significant life chapter.

This move followed Dreyer's separation from husband Brian Fichera, a decision they announced in July 2025 and she later elaborated on in November 2025. Dreyer stated that while they could not fix certain aspects of their relationship, they have maintained a strong friendship and remain committed to co-parenting their three sons: Calvin, Oliver, and Russell.

Dreyer finds the suburban lifestyle refreshing, especially enjoying the freedom of renting. She highlighted the positive experiences her children are having in suburban schools, which celebrate various holidays and focus on diverse learning activities.
