Durga Puja Pandal Celebrates Shakti and Environmental Stewardship
26 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Durga Puja pandal with "Shakti Sagar" theme
- Symbolic boat collecting plastic waste in the ocean
- Worship of Goddess Durga linked to preserving Mother Earth

On September 24th, 2025, the Youth Association of Mohammad Ali Park inaugurated its 57th annual Durga Puja celebration with the theme "Shakti Sagar - A Tribute to the Divine Feminine and the Eternal Protector." This year's pandal is a striking blend of spirituality, artistry, and ecological awareness.
At the entrance, a radiant idol of Lord Krishna holding the eternal wheel of time welcomes visitors, symbolizing justice, compassion, and cosmic balance. Inside, the pandal immerses devotees in a breathtaking underwater world, with coral palaces, dolphins, and schools of fish evoking the grandeur of submerged temples. A particularly thought-provoking element is a symbolic boat that silently sails across the ocean, collecting plastic and waste - a reminder that devotion must extend to caring for the planet.
Speaking on the occasion, Surendra Kr. Sharma, General Secretary, said: "Shakti Sagar is not just an artistic creation; it is our collective prayer for strength, harmony, and environmental responsibility. Worship of the Goddess is incomplete without preserving Mother Earth."
