Summary

- Villagers enjoyed luxury accommodations, cultural tours, and exclusive events.

The Austrian capital, Vienna, has initiated an unconventional tourism promotion by inviting residents from the small Scottish village of Dull. This initiative involved approximately 33 villagers traveling to Vienna for a curated, all-expenses-paid experience, designed to showcase the city during a quieter tourism month.
During their visit, the villagers from Dull were immersed in Viennese culture, enjoying stays at the five-star Imperial Hotel, which has hosted numerous celebrities. Their itinerary included VIP tours of renowned institutions like the Kunsthistorisches Museum, exclusive dance lessons, and attendance at events such as the Ball of Sciences and the Ice Dream ice venue.
This unique twinning aims to highlight Vienna's attractions and counter the notion of January being a 'dull' month for tourism. Residents of Dull, who are accustomed to jokes about their village's name and are part of a 'Trinity of Tedium' with Boring, Oregon, and Bland, Australia, embraced the opportunity, finding Vienna to be anything but dull.
