A Florida family experienced immense joy after their 13-year-old Shih Tzu, Apollo, returned home after being missing for more than two months. The family, from Marion County, Florida, had lost Apollo in April when he escaped through a gate. They maintained hope throughout the search, keeping his food and toys ready.
In June, the Joseys received a call from a Long Island animal shelter that had found Apollo. His microchip confirmed his identity, despite being temporarily nicknamed 'Yuri' by the shelter staff. After confirming his whereabouts, Nicholas Josey traveled to New York to bring Apollo back.
Apollo was able to meet the family's newborn son, who was born during his absence. The reunion was emotional, with Nicholas describing Apollo as a beloved child before their human children arrived. The family is now planning a party to celebrate Apollo's upcoming 14th birthday, marking a happy conclusion to his extensive journey.
